Rihanna and Kanye, we need to hear more from you. Make it in 2016, please.

From Adele returning from hiatus and destroying sales records to Phil Collins announcing he was out of retirement, 2015 was packed with comebacks. There was a stellar Janet Jacksonalbum, and Missy Elliott resurfaced with one of the zaniest dance videos in ages. Sleater-Kinney reunited, as did Blur and Chic. Dr. Dre finally put out an album — after 16 years — and Madonna returned too (though maybe she should have waited until we missed her). For every high-profile return, there was one that didn't quite pan out. Here are eight comebacks we want to happen in 2016.

Rihanna

The wait for the pop diva's long gestating album, "Anti," has become frustrating enough to be laughable. Despite releasing a handful of new songs and teasing collaborators, the singer has remained impressively tight-lipped about specifics. The album's first single, "FourFiveSeconds," a barebones soft rocker featuring Paul McCartney and the album's reported executive producer Kanye West, came out in January. Her "Man in the Mirror"-esque stomper "American Oxygen" was a dud, but tunes like "James Joint" and the Florence and the Machine-sampling "Only If for a Night" ramped up the excitement again. She killed club dance floors with her swaggering "Bitch Better Have My Money," but the tune has run its course, and she's yet to offer a follow-up. A high-concept mobile experience through a massive electronics company has given the impression that a release is imminent. But is it?

Kanye West

Hip-hop's most outspoken, self-proclaimed genius spent much of 2015 giving us false hope that he was dropping a follow-up to 2013's "Yeezus." He supplied a few album titles, "So Help Me God" and then "Swish," and he delivered high-profile performances on "Saturday Night Live," theBillboard Music Awards and the Grammys in support of new music from the upcoming album. Over the summer, his Steve McQueen collaboration, "All Day/I Feel Like That" — a nine-minute music video that paired two of the tracks into one conceptual art project — ran at LACMA, and he substituted for Frank Ocean (see below) in the eleventh hour to save the otherwise drab FYF Fest. To be fair, he had a busy year overseeing fashion lines, announcing a bid for presidency, staging an epic theatrical run of his beloved "808s and Heartbreak" album and having his second child with Kim Kardashian. As the year came to a close, the rapper offered an update on his album in typical West fashion: "I'm asking everyone DON'T ASK ME FOR ANYTHING TILL AFTER I'M FINISHED WITH MY ALBUM." Deal.

Britney Spears

Musically, the last few years for Spears have been a struggle. Her last single, "Pretty Girls," was fun and catchy enough to fit in her canon of sugary pop gems, but the song was mostly seen as an unnecessary redux of Azalea's massive hit "Fancy." Spears' last album, 2013's "Britney Jean," was largely a phoned-in mess beyond the scorching "Work Bitch" and the Sia-penned "Perfume." But as Spears has continued to prove, she's one pop diva you can't count out. Her Las Vegas residency seems to have gotten her excited about music again, and with Spears reportedly logging hours in the studio at the tail end of 2015, we can only assume that next year, she'll be hitting back stronger than yesterday (see what we did there?).

Christmas Day, RihRih unlocked the sixth room of her AntidiaRY. In the video, the “FourFiveSecond” singer is wearing all black as she walks through a crowd. A stark light comes on inciting a bit of fear in everyone, yet Rihanna continues walking.

With her head held high. shoulders back and determination in her eyes, Rihanna makes her way to a stage where her image is then projected onto a screen in the dark room.

No word on how many rooms are left that need to be unlocked, or when Rihanna will actually release her album. So until then, all we can do is wait.

Rihanna Takes ANTIdiaRY To The Streets In NYC Scavenger Hunt

The anticipation just keeps on building as Rihanna continues to drop hints and inside looks to her upcoming album, ANTI. And in her latest stunt to keep fans on their toes, the Bad Gal revealed a behind-the-scenes look at five rooms on her ANTIdiaRY app that she previously released with Samsung. The five-room display took fans through a series of rooms dear to Riri, including her tattoo parlor and bathroom. And now, after fans got a virtual look at the “BBHMM” singer’s ANTIdiaRY world, Rihanna is hopping off the screen and recreating the experience in real life.According to the @IAmTheKeyHolder Instagram account, which has also revealed exclusive clips from her project, one of the rooms from the app exists in New York City. But finding the room isn’t going to come without doing some good detective work. The Instagram account will be dropping a series of bread crumbs, taking fans on a maze around the city and ultimately to the ANTIdiaRY room.

Rihanna Was Spotify’s Most Streamed Female Artist in 2015, Even Without Releasing an Album

It’s been an interesting 2015 for Rihanna. While she remains famous to a degree that is basically impossible to comprehend, and while her fashion empire continues to expand (now including sock lines and beauty agencies), she has continued to frustrate fans who are eager (“eager” is putting it mildly) for her eighth studio album. (Rihanna released her first seven albums over the course of eight years, the most recent being 2012’s Unapologetic.)

She released three singles this year—“FourFiveSeconds,” in January, “Bitch Better Have My Money,” in March, and “American Oxygen,” in April—yet none of the three were followed, as many hoped or assumed, with an album release. In October, amidst all kinds of rumors about Rihanna wresting control of her music and releasing it on her own, the title of the disc—Anti—was revealed, along with album art. But now we’ve reached December, and, despite a string of Samsung ads teasing the release, as well as the announcement of an Anti World Tour, we still, basically, have no idea when this album is coming!

But today we learned that not releasing an album . . . didn’t matter at all when it came to her popularity among listeners. Despite not yet putting out “#R8,” as it is referred to her by her fans, Rihanna still reigned supreme this year. Spotify has released its end-of-year data, and Rihanna was the most streamed female artist, worldwide, with over 1 billion streams and 57 million listeners (it should be noted thatTaylor Swift’s catalogue is not available on Spotify). Just imagine how many streams Rihanna will be in for next year, if there’s an album’s worth of new material from her (though, honestly, we would not be too surprised if the album didn’t come until 2027 at this point).

Drake was the most streamed male artist this year (1.8 billion streams, 46 million listeners), and Major Lazer’s“Lean On”—ubiquitous this summer—was the most streamed track, listened to over 540 million times in 2015.The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness was the most streamed album of the year, with 60 million listeners.

Rihanna, Travis Scott Split Rumors: 'Diamonds' Singer Ends Brief Romance To Focus On New Album 'Anti,' Report Says

Rihanna has ended her brief relationship with her boyfriend Travis Scott, according to reports. The two had heated up dating rumors after they were spotted together over the last few months.

A source told Urban Islandz that the “Diamonds” singer has decided to end her relationship with Scott so that she can focus on completing her eighth studio album, “Anti.” Rihanna is preparing to release her album in the next few weeks and has no time for romance, Urban Islandz reported.

“He wanted her every second of the day and even wanted her to travel with him for his show,” the source close to Rihanna reportedly said. “While all the need for her attention is flattering it eventually became too much for her to handle. He is just too needy so she broke things off with him.”

The source added that Scott became “too possessive” for Rihanna despite their relationship having “no strings.”

According to new reports, Rihanna pushed back the release date of "Anti" because she didn't want it to drop the same day as Adele's new album "25" on Nov. 20.

Rihanna and Scott sparked dating rumors just weeks after the former ended her relationship with Formula One racing champ Lewis Hamilton. Neither Rihanna nor Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster, have confirmed their relationship.

In September, reports surfaced that despite dating Scott, Rihanna thinks Chris Brown is "the love of her life."

Rihanna apparently felt guilty about canceling her performance at the Victoria’s Secret fashion show on November 3, and made up for it with a heartfelt note expressing her apologies. The rumor mill started churning on November 3 when Jourdan, who has walked in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show for the past three years, tweeted and deleted some major shade at the lingerie conglomerate: “Feeling so much better not doing BS…sorry I mean VS now that Rihanna isn’t doing it also.” Note that this tweet happened just moments after Rihanna’s announcement. Either Jourdan was just glad that she wasn’t going to miss a free Rihanna concert, or there was something else going on. Did Rihanna drop out when she heard that Jourdan wouldn’t be attending?

You see, the same time it was revealed that Jourdan wouldn’t be in the show, Kendall Jenner was announced to bewalking for Victoria’s Secret for the first time. It’s possible that Jourdan got bumped for Kendall. It seemed like Rihanna’s departure could have been a show of solidarity. Though Rihanna has been on good terms with the Kardashian family, due to her friendship with Kanye West, her relationship with Kendall has been a little strained. Rihanna and Kendall had a bit of a sassy Twitter exchange in 2013 over the set list at Rihanna’s concert. Nothing major though!

May 2014: Takes a selfie with a cop at a Lakers game and accidentally breaks his phone. She later donates $25,000 to the Los Angeles Police Foundation.

June 2014: Gets in a Twitter fight with TLC, saying, irrefutably, “There’s no changing the fact that I’m me, and they’re well … they’re them.”

July 2014: Parties with German soccer team after its World Cup win; refers to striker Miroslav Klose as “the German bae.”

Rihanna’s legal team blasts bombshell Beyoncé book

Rihanna‘s legal reps are blasting reports stemming from the new book “Becoming Beyoncé” — especially the tome’s claim that a former publicist leaked a 2005 rumor that Rihanna and Jay Z had an affair to create publicity for her.

The book dropped a bombshell this week by quoting Jonathan Hay, who claimed he leaked false, lurid details about an affair between a teen Rihanna and Jay Z to promote her first single, “Pon de Replay,” in 2005.

“I was working for Vada Nobles, who wrote and produced ‘Pon de Replay,’” Hay’s quoted in R. Randy Taraborrelli’s “Becoming Beyoncé.” “It was my job to make sure she hit . . . In an effort to generate some interest . . . I began to plant . . . stories that Jay and Rihanna were having a hot romance.” The only problem with the revelation? Rihanna’s legal reps and Nobles told Page Six on Tuesday that Rihanna’s never had any involvement with Hay as a rep.

“Hay was never Rihanna’s publicist or had any personal or professional relationship with her,” Rihanna’s lawyer Jordan Siev told us. Her team claimed the New York Daily News erroneously reported Hay was “Rihanna’s ex-publicist” before updating its story on Tuesday. Other outlets have also called him “former Rihanna publicist.”

When we reached out to Hay, he told us, “I wasn’t Rihanna’s publicist, I was [the] publicist for her first single. She didn’t have a publicist . . . It was back in the day, she was nobody.”

But Nobles said: “I met this guy once, maybe twice . . . I did not hire Jonathan Hay to promote Rihanna [or] ‘Pon de Replay’ . . . He had nothing to do with Rihanna. Someone I knew referred this guy [to me as a publicist], I said, ‘Let’s see what he can do’ . . . He was using my name and what I was doing to get traction for himself.”

Making things murkier yet, Hay told us in a statement: “I haven’t read the book and I don’t know what it says. I talked to the author for the first time this Sunday.” He added he’s now focusing on “music projects that I’m producing and releasing . . . All this other gossip is nonsense.”

Rihanna’s Ex-Publicist Apologizes For Starting Jay Z And Beyonce Love Triangle Rumor

A unauthorized biography about the life of Beyonce has the masses questioning her marriage to Jay Z once again. In the book, titled Becoming Beyonce, author J. Randy Taraborelli claims that The Carters took a nearly year-long break ten years ago after rumors surfaced that Jay Z cheated with Rihanna. With the story getting a whole new breath of life thanks to Taraborelli, the man behind the snafu has come forward with an apology for spreading the false story.

In a statement to the New York Daily News, Rihanna’s ex-publicist Jonathan Hay revealed his current business relationship with TIDAL, and his hopes that the rumor did not affect it.

“I was blindsided by the news of ‘Becoming Beyoncé’ coming out and it couldn’t come at a worse time for me,” he said. “I’m currently releasing projects with my label Urban Hitchcock through Tidal, a company that is owned by Jay Z and Beyoncé … Hopefully this news hasn’t ruined that relationship for me.”

The rumor that kept on giving was even attached to Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange’s now-infamous elevator incident in 2014. Reports circulated that the catalyst for the physical spat was Beyonce’s forbidding of Jay Z to attend Rihanna’s post-Met Gala after party. According to Taraborelli, it was just a “whispered married couple’s argument” that Solange became protective over. Hay traced the entire Rihanna rumor back to her debut single, “Pon de Replay.”

“The pr stunt that I did was out of desperation to help break ‘Pon de Replay’,” he wrote in his statement. “It was reckless and I didn’t think it was going to work. I was just throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what would stick.”

While neither Beyonce, Jay Z nor Rihanna have ever addressed the outlandish love triangle rumor, Hay admits he had a rather naive perspective at the time.

“I didn’t think it would be this big story,” Hay wrote. “But now, seeing Beyoncé on the cover of this book and knowing that people are profiting from speculations and opinions about her really turns my stomach. I’m ashamed that I’m even talking about this. I just want to put this rumor to rest once and for all.”

The R and B superstar, who has not put out an album in three years after nearly annual releases since her 2005 debut, announced on Instagram on Friday that the new work would be called 'Anti' and is coming 'soon'.

While staying mum on the music, the 27-year-old revealed the cover of the record.

Painted by pop artist Roy Nachum, it depicts a child Rihanna with a golden crown over her eyes, holding up a balloon over a blood-red backdrop.

Offering an ambitious explanation of the 'Anti' theme, Rihanna wrote that she and Nachum believed they have 'changed the history of album art'.

The Barbados-born singer, known for her rich voice and talent holding long notes, has released a string of top-charting singles including Only Girl (in the World), Rude Boy and Diamonds.

But her public image is also marked by her troubled past relationship with rapper Chris Brown, who was convicted in 2009 of beating her.

In the latest edition of Vanity Fair, Rihanna said she had stayed with Brown in hopes of changing him.

'I was very protective of him. I felt that people didn't understand him,' Rihanna told the magazine.

'But you know, you realise after a while that in that situation you're the enemy,' she said.

'You want the best for them, but if you remind them of their failures, or if you remind them of bad moments in their life, or even if you say I'm willing to put up with something, they think less of you - because they know you don't deserve what they're going to give.'

Rihanna unveils album cover that 'changes the history of album art'

Rihanna’s much-delayed new album – her first since 2012’s Unapologetic – now has a title, Anti.

The title was revealed by Rihanna herself at the Mama gallery in downtown Los Angeles – invitations to the event billed it as “a private viewing of artwork by Roy Nachum her her 8th studio album”. Rihanna said it was the favourite album cover of her career.

One exhibit at the gallery defined the title: “A person opposed to a particular policy, activity or idea.” It also offered the claim that “in her collaboration with Roy Nachum, Rihanna has changed the history of album art. By continuing to follow her own instincts, her work strives to make an impact by doing the very antithesis of what the public expects.”

The cover features a picture of Rihanna as a child with a crown covering her eyes. Laid over the image is a poem by Chloe Mitchell written in Braille, whose work has previously been used by Kanye West, Anti’s executive producer.

“He see things beyond the surface which is why I decided to collaborate with him,” Rihanna said of Nachum. “He really interpreted it in his own way, with exactly the message I wanted.”

She added: “The whole idea behind the Braille is that people who have sight are sometimes the people who are blindest.”

Nachum referred to Rihanna in return as “a true artist and visionary”. He has used Braille in the past, incorporating it into oil paintings in his “Blind” series.

Other album artwork on show also included Braille poetry written by Nachum, with fans at the event encouraged to add their own fingerprints to specific pictures.

A release date for the album – which has so far spawned three singles;FourFiveSeconds, American Oxygen and Bitch Better Have My Money – has yet to be announced.

No new songs were played at the exhibition.

“I’m too grown to lie,” he insisted. While Matt’s response is rather vague, he’s certainly not backing down even after Rihanna shut him down!

In case you missed Rihanna’s shade-throwing denial of any ties to Matt, she Instagrammed a screenshot from the video of his claim and used only hashtags to call him out for lying. “#bishwhere #thedevilisaliar #shesnotthatintoyou #shesnotintoyouatall#shesneverevenmetyou #thisactuallyhurtmyfeelings #defamationofcharacter,” she wrote.

Rihanna definitely didn’t hold anything back with that post! We have to say, it’s pretty bold for Matt to deny that he’s a liar after Ri clearly wanted nothing to do with him. He may be “too grown to lie,” but is he “too grown” to have some bad blood with Rihanna since she publicly humiliated him on Instagram?

“I ain’t got no beef with nobody, I ain’t got no reason,” he told TMZ. “Ain’t no reason to have beef.” It sounds like he didn’t take her Insta so seriously after all!

Rihanna 'fallen hard' for Travis Scott as she 'plans to introduce rapper to her mum

Rihanna was spotted partying with rapper Travis Scott in Paris on Thursday night and while the rumoured couple have yet to confirm their romance according to insiders it is already getting serious.

The 27-year-old was first seen spending time with Scott in New York last month, where they locked lips at a fashion week party and were seen heading back to the same hotel.

RiRi - who also spent time with Lewis Hamilton this summer - is said to have fallen hard for the 23-year-old and is already looking to take things to the next step and introduce him to her mother.

Celeb finance firm accused of racist digs toward client Rihanna

A Manhattan financial management firm that caters to powerful women like Rihanna and Kelly Ripa is a sexist and racist frat house where executives made lewd comments about female employees and once said the “Umbrella” singer is “hot” because she’s “not too dark,” new court papers state.

Modal TriggerFlynn Family Office partner Alan Kufeld regularly made obscene comments and once described his hopes that a new intern had a body like her mom, who he said “is banging the drummer from [heavy metal band] Skid Row,” according to the Manhattan federal court lawsuit.

Kufeld, 47, also talked with FFO founder and CEO Rick Flynn about how sexy various former assistants had been, noting that one assistant “lost points in his eyes because she was too dark,” the suit states.

“It was a locker-room mentality,” said ex-FFO marketing head Robert Solomon, 42, who claims he was fired after a year for objecting to the sexist banter.

Kufeld would regularly comment on how hot FFO’s female clients in the entertainment sector were, making the “not too dark” comment about Rihanna before giving a “monologue on what Caribbean nationalities were the most attractive based on skin tone” and discussing “sex tourism and the relative hotness of Asian women,” the suit states.

Flynn also talked dirty in the office, mentioning a female worker’s “ass of steel,” then saying, “F–k her” after the woman quit a few weeks later, according to the suit.

“It’s ironic and disturbing that an organization that sought high-profile women as clients would have such a sexist and misogynistic corporate culture,” said Solomon’s lawyer, Walker Harman, adding that other FFO clients include designer Tory Burch and actresses Katie Holmes and Ellen Barkin.

Solomon’s wrongful-termination lawsuit also claims he was mocked for being middle-aged.

Flynn responded to the charges by defending his company.

“We at FFO have always championed the rights of women and minorities, particularly in the workplace,” he said. “The complaint filed today is without merit, and we intend to defend vigorously against these baseless claims.”
