Rihanna may have totally denied NBA star Matt Barnes’ claims that they hooked up, but that hasn’t stopped him from saying it really happened! Even though RiRi called him a liar, Matt’s still insisting he’s ‘too grown’ to not be telling the truth!
Although NBA player Matt Barnes, 35, still has yet to be seen with Rihanna, 27, he’s not done claiming that he and Ri have gotten together. She completely shut down his original claim in August, and nearly two months later, he’s shutting down her denial! See what he said below!
Matt first hinted that things were heating up between him and Rihanna to TMZ, saying that while they were just friends, they had “just passed the crush stage.” It didn’t take long for RiRi to deny what he said, but when TMZ caught Matt again in early October, he had a short and sweet way of sticking to his claim — watch the video of his response here!
“I’m too grown to lie,” he insisted. While Matt’s response is rather vague, he’s certainly not backing down even after Rihanna shut him down!
In case you missed Rihanna’s shade-throwing denial of any ties to Matt, she Instagrammed a screenshot from the video of his claim and used only hashtags to call him out for lying. “#bishwhere #thedevilisaliar #shesnotthatintoyou #shesnotintoyouatall#shesneverevenmetyou #thisactuallyhurtmyfeelings #defamationofcharacter,” she wrote.
Rihanna definitely didn’t hold anything back with that post! We have to say, it’s pretty bold for Matt to deny that he’s a liar after Ri clearly wanted nothing to do with him. He may be “too grown to lie,” but is he “too grown” to have some bad blood with Rihanna since she publicly humiliated him on Instagram?
“I ain’t got no beef with nobody, I ain’t got no reason,” he told TMZ. “Ain’t no reason to have beef.” It sounds like he didn’t take her Insta so seriously after all!
Considering Rihanna seems to be pretty interestedin rapper Travis Scott lately, who knows if we’ll be seeing any sort of retaliation from Ri this time around. Maybe Rihanna will just insist that she’s “too grown” to keep denying Matt!
