Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Imagine Dragons lead the nominees for the first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards.
The ceremony is to be aired on NBC on May 1 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
Rihanna has earned five nominations in all, including nods in the Artist of the Year and Best Fan Army categories.
Artist of the Year pits the 'Stay' singer up against Imagine Dragons, Timberlake, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Maroon 5.
She has also been recognised in the Hip Hop/R&B Song of the Year category for 'Pour It Up', up against Robin Thicke, Drake and Jay Z.
Timberlake's 'Mirrors' is up for Song of the Year opposite 'Hold On We're Going Home' by Drake, Imagine Dragons' 'Radioactive', and the Rihanna tracks 'Stay' and 'The Monster'.
Nominees were culled from the newly introduced iHeartRadioChart, which combines radio play, streaming data, listener feedback and digital sales.
More categories will be announced in the coming weeks.
Ryan Seacrest is partnering with Clear Channel to produce the ceremony for NBC.
